Skipper Bill will be guiding Steve and four participants to some of his favorite places in the North Channel including the Benjamin and Fox Islands. The course will include morning instruction and objectives followed by evening critique of images. Besides learning landscape composition, the crew will learn how to attract and artfully photograph the abundant wildlife of the area. Captain Bill will be preparing most meals so students will have plenty of time to explore this fabulous landscape. This offering is for the intermediate to advanced photographer and is on a first come first serve basis.Required Equipment: Digital SLR equipment with tripod.
Steve Gettle’s images communicate his love for the wildlife and wild places of our world and have been exhibited in galleries and museums all over the world, including the Museum of Natural History in London and The American Museum of Natural History in New York. In the spring of 2008, Steve was honored to have a one man show at The National Center for Nature Photography in Ohio. His work has been featured in many books, magazines, calendars, and other publications by, The National Geographic Society, Canadian Geographic, Audubon, Sierra Club, The BBC, The World Wildlife Fund, The National Wildlife Federation, Birder’s World, Nature’s Best, Wild Bird, and Natural History. His other honors include being chosen Great Lakes Wildlife Photographer of the Year as well as being a multiple award winner in the BBC’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
